I have decided to follow Jesus



Wow, it’s the 2nd day for the last month of this year 2013. December is already here and there are a lot of activities and special events and reason for us to be happy, especially the upcoming Christmas day and the changing of years. I am so grateful because of God’s favor in my life. I can say that I have matured in terms of my spirituality, and I am able to deepen my understanding on how he calls me to serve him and to receive him as my savior and my Lord. I am glad because up until this time my life is well ordered and I am able to think peacefully and am so excited about my future and the short term goal that I have reflected. I know that God wants us to live our life to the fullest but sometimes we fail to follow his will because we think that we know ourselves well and we never notice how to be compassionate to others who are helpless and in need.

 Let us all be happy and glorify the name of God everyday of our life. As I have decided to live my singleness life, everything is a blessing especially when I have decided to live in simplicity. Yes, there are times that I feel sad, alone, and unsatisfied but never in my life I feel so bored. Living life with God is the most celebrated kind of life for every moment is a declaration of victory as long as you believe without any hesitation. Though I encounter a lot of difficulties like financial stability, thinking about the possible job opportunities, and poverty in terms of the things that I cannot have, it just give a notion that I am not perfect. I still believe and hold on to my dreams and long term goal of become an instrument of my God to spread his good news of salvation.

Self-sacrifice, A glimpse of my childhood days

I was 7 years old. We were getting used to the habit of managing hunger. It was a challenge to get food for more than once in a day. I remember going to bed without food on some of the nights. Whenever we get food, it used to be plain rice, tinoghong, salt, milo, sugar, bulad, tinapa etc. Sometimes, a very plain tasteless food and not easy to eat.
